The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 ½ Cups All-Purpose Flour 

3 teaspoons baking powder 

½ teaspoon baking soda 

1 teaspoon salt 

1 cup ( two sticks room temperature unsalted butter) 

½ cup granulated sugar 

1 cup packed brown sugar 

1 teaspoon vanilla 

2 large eggs ( room temperature)

2 cups bittersweet chocolate ( rough chop) 

1 ½ cups Black walnuts ( I LOVE Black Walnuts so it may seem like a lot, you can totally use less) 


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees, prep stainless baking sheets with parchment or rubber baking mats 

  2. Place half of the butter in mixing bowl and the other half on a small skillet 

  3. Melt butter on medium low temperature until butter begins to melt and is light brown it will have a nut like aroma.

  4. In a mixing bowl ( not the one with the butter) combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt .

  5. In the mixing bowl add brown sugar and granulated sugar mix with paddle attachment for 3 minutes.

  6. Pour the brown butter over the butter-sugar mixture and let it rest 3-5 minutes.

  7. Mix until combined and then slowly add flour mixture. Stir until it is evenly combines 

  8. Remove from mixing bowl and add the vanilla, nuts and chocolate chips

  9. Scope on to baking sheet 3 across 4 vertically let chill in fridge for 1 hour until firmly set  

  10. Bake 12-14 mins until golden brown ( if your oven is janky like mine you will need to rotate half way through the cooking for even browning)
